Pixel pitch is the center-to-center distance between adjacent pixels on an LED display, usually measured in millimeters; a smaller pitch means higher resolution and a shorter comfortable viewing distance.
Pitch is chosen from the closest typical viewing distance and the content. Fine pitches suit boardrooms viewed from a few meters; larger pitches suit lobby and large-venue walls viewed from further away, at lower cost per square foot.
