BYOM (Bring Your Own Meeting)

Running a call from your laptop using the room's camera, mics and speakers.

BYOM (bring your own meeting) is a meeting room configuration in which a user's laptop runs the video call on any platform while using the room's camera, microphones, loudspeakers and display as peripherals, usually over a single USB connection.

BYOM lets guests host on a platform the room's native system does not run — for example a Zoom meeting in a Teams Rooms space. The room's audio processing still applies, so remote participants get the room microphones rather than the laptop's built-in mic.

Where this matters: Video conferencing installation — see how AV Company New York applies this in real New York projects.
