LED for seamless canvases; LCD for dense monitoring.

Direct-View LED vs LCD Video Walls

Direct-view LED produces a single seamless surface at any size, with brightness for lit rooms and lobbies and no bezels. Pixel pitch is chosen from the viewing distance: finer pitch for boardrooms and close viewing, coarser for large town-hall and lobby walls. Tiled LCD walls use commercial displays with narrow bezels and are cost-effective for operations rooms, monitoring and multi-window layouts where a seamless canvas is less important than density and resolution.

A video wall is a construction project.

Engineering a Video Wall Installation

Video walls need structure, power, cooling, service access and cable management designed before installation. Wall construction is verified for load; mounting is engineered for alignment and serviceability; power and heat are coordinated with electrical and mechanical; processing is selected for the sources and layouts the room needs. In New York buildings, landlord approval for wall penetrations, freight access for LED cabinets and after-hours installation windows are planned from the start.

The wall is part of the room's AV system.

Integrating Video Walls with Room AV

A video wall in a town-hall space shows a presenter beside slides, a remote participant gallery, or full-width motion content — selected from the room's control system. In a boardroom it becomes the conferencing display. In a lobby it runs signage content on a schedule. Processing, sources, control and content management are designed together so the wall is operated from the same interface as the rest of the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a video wall cost?

Cost depends on size, technology (LED vs LCD), pixel pitch, processing and structural work. LED pricing scales with area and pitch. We provide a budget after a site assessment and design; a design-only engagement can validate a budget before commitment.

What pixel pitch do we need?

It depends on viewing distance: finer pitch for close viewing in boardrooms, coarser pitch for lobbies and large rooms viewed from further away. We calculate pitch from the room.

Can a video wall be used for video conferencing?

Yes. LED walls in boardrooms and town-hall rooms are commonly used as the conferencing display, with processing that places the remote gallery and content on the canvas.

Do you handle structure and power?

We engineer the mounting and coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical requirements with the building and contractors.
