In meeting rooms, BYOD (bring your own device) describes a setup where users connect their own laptop, tablet or phone — by cable or wirelessly — to share content on the room display.
BYOD is about content sharing. When the laptop also uses the room's camera, microphones and speakers to run a call, the setup is usually called BYOM — bring your own meeting.
Most modern rooms support BYOD through a USB-C or HDMI table connection and a wireless presentation system, alongside a native Teams or Zoom room system.
