Ceiling Microphone Array

A ceiling-mounted array that picks up talkers across a table without tabletop mics.

A ceiling microphone array is a ceiling-mounted device containing multiple microphone elements, usually with beamforming, that covers a defined area of a room so conference audio can be captured without microphones on the table.

Ceiling arrays are common in medium and large conference rooms, boardrooms and rooms with frequently changing furniture. They are mounted in or below the ceiling grid and configured during commissioning to cover seating zones.

Performance depends on ceiling height, HVAC noise, room reverberation and correct DSP tuning. Multiple arrays can cover long tables.
